Top Student Cards ComparedThe Best Student Credit Cards
However student loan debt continues to grow and it cannot be discharged in bankruptcy. Students have to use these cards sensibly or they will embark on their new careers with more debt than they can possibly handle. It appears that lenders are getting out of this business, which is why the pickings are so meager. But this should also tell you something.
What to Look for in a Student Credit CardA student credit card is just like any other consumer credit card. It is just sold to a different market and the rewards offered are intended to entice younger credit users.
First you need to look for low or no annual fees, at least a 25 day grace period and a low interest rate. If possible, you want to stay away from cards that use "two-cycle" billing and the "universal default clause", but you'll have to read the fine print to determine if any specific lender does (and it appears more and more do). Other than that compare the rewards that each card offers and pick the one that best appeals to you. Or check out Rewards Cards. You might find a better overall package there.
