All About Your Hosts

My name is Chris Cooper, your host to what I hope becomes your journey to financial independence.

I am a retired lawyer.

I have handled a lot of complex litigation involving contracts, mortgages and insurance policies.

More importantly for the purposes of this website, I am no stranger to debt, having gotten seriously over my head several times in my lifetime, sometimes to the point of panic. I know that there are times and situations we all encounter that can cause us to take on more debt than we should, no matter what advice we get or how hard we try to avoid it.

Also helping out, is my long suffering wife, Aileen. Aileen has an MBA in Finance, was licensed as a securities broker by the National Association of Securities Dealers and spent another four years of studying to obtain the prestigious Chartered Financial Analyst designation. conferred by the Association of Investment Management and Research (now the CFA Institute).

She then managed a multi-billion dollar fixed income portfolio for a major financial institution in New York. She obviously has a lot of financial insight that she can ad.

We will share our knowledge with you. With credit scores affecting more and more aspects of our lives, we have to be more responsible than ever.
